Beach Conditions Report:

Reports from select beaches along the coast of Florida are made through ambassador observations and designed to alert and inform the public of beach conditions at participating beaches.

Ted Sperling Park (South Lido Beach): 

Get out and explore Sarasota’s beautiful waterways and coastal environment. Home to numerous bird and marine species, our waterways and coastal environment offers many opportunities for wildlife viewing.  Kayaks and paddleboards are available for rent. Explore on your own or through a scheduled guided tour. 

Residents of Sarasota County (including Lido Key) may take accepted items generated from non-business related activities to one of the County's Chemical Collection Centers for safe disposal free of charge. Proof of county residency (driver’s license, tax bill, utility bill, etc.) may be required.  For more information:   Hazardous Waste.

This popular asphalt-paved multi-use trail is more than 10 miles long and extends from Sarasota to Venice. Formerly a railroad corridor, the trail passes through a variety of unique habitats and includes a series of interpretive signs and stop stations.  For more information visit Legacy Trail Updates.  

Breeze OnDemand is a public, on-demand transit service. It can provide public transportation throughout Sarasota County.  The fare is $2.00.  Travel 7 days a week: Monday - Saturday 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.  From Lido, you will need to get to the Transportation Hub in downtown Sarasota. The City of Sarasota has added an open-air trolley, The Bay Runner, that has key stops along a route from South Lido through downtown Sarasota including a stop near the Transportation Hub.
