Scooter/Bike Sharing is Rolling

The City's new micro-mobility initiative featuring scooter and bicycle sharing offered exclusively by Veo is off and running. Veo is rolling out this new service and has approximately 350-400 scooters (seated and stand-up) and 50-75 bikes (traditional and pedal-assisted) available for rent. Look for established scooter and bike corrals and approved parking areas on Main Street (conveniently located near Bay Runner trolley stops), St. Armands Circle and other parts of the city. Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The vehicles can be unlocked and rented via the Veo mobile app available in the App Store and Google Play. Rental costs for scooters are $1 to unlock and 37 cents per minute. Bike rentals are 50 cents per half hour.  Through its Veo Access program, the company also offers discounted rates to low-income users who qualify.  The City's goal is to offer a short distance transportation option that is easy, safe and convenient. Questions can be answered on Veo or Frequently Asked Questions.

The Bay Runner Trolley

The Bay Runner trolley offering complimentary service between downtown Sarasota, St. Armands Circle and Lido Beach began March 2nd and is proving very popular.  The free open-air trolley carrying up to 28 passengers operates between downtown and the barrier islands now with 24 pre-determined stops approximately 2-3 blocks apart in pedestrian areas along Main Street, St. Armands Circle and Lido Pavilion and turnarounds at Ted Sperling Park at South Lido Beach. The trolley route map is available. An additional stop will be added near Golden Gate Point when the U.S 41-Gulfstream Avenue roundabout is completed. Hours of operation and headway times for the complimentary service are:

  • 8 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week, including holidays
  •  20-minute headway time during peak hours and 30-minute during off-peak hours

The transit schedule will be monitored and modified as necessary to provide efficient service. The Bay Runner carries 28 passengers and is equipped with a wheelchair boarding lift.     The Sarasota Bay Runner app tracks real time information including approximate arrival times and is available via the Apple App Store, Google Play and a QR code on Bay Runner stop signs.

Code Compliance and Click-2-Fix

Click-2-Fix continues to get great reviews because it delivers results!

We worked with the City throughout 2021 resulting in an updated Code Compliance Portal on their website making it easier to report violations and request services.  We also helped design and pilot CoS (City of Sarasota) Click-2-Fix.  This is downloadable app to report problems such as potholes, broken sidewalks, tree limbs down, parking meters, and many more. City departments receiving the submissions include Public Works, Parks & Rec, Utilities, Risk Management, Parking, and Code Compliance.  Users can also add photos and the physical location of the issue to assist staff.  Download this innovative smartphone or tablet tool.  It also works directly in your browser.   The City is divided up in Code Compliance Zones.
